DISCOVERING THE FRIULAN AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
About 1 km from our campsite, at the Museum of Rural Life
Cjase Cocel. you can immerse yourself in the daily life of the late nineteenth/mid twentieth century. Here you can discover a small farm, the clothing made with the loom, the tools of women's work, the shed for the threshing, the dairy and finally the authentic tavern with the typical
furlan fogolâr. On special occasions, it is possible to admire the ancient craftsmen at work such as the cheesemaker, the blacksmith, the miller, the woman who spins wool and the lacemaker.
We continue the discovery of native culture at the Ecomuseo della Gente di Collina
Il Cavalir., where testimonies of the material heritage, life and work habits of the Friulian population are handed down.
Finally, 10 km from Fagagna, there is the
Museo San Daniele. of Friuli which hosts various collections testifying to the agricultural past. Starting with an archaeological section that presents local finds that allow us to follow the evolution of life in the area from the 11th century BC. until the Middle Ages. A section of sacred art, which includes wooden altars, works on wood, on canvas and remains of frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries. The exhibition is completed by an ethnographic section with finds relating to the arts and crafts of Friulian civilisation.
