Motorcycles and curves go hand in hand, from the hill of our
Fagagna you can enjoy a day discovering
culture,
breathtaking landscapes and
ancient flavours!
After having collected the packed lunch directly at our reception, we begin the morning by scanning the entire plain of the lower Friuli area from the Fagagna's hill and then we go to Majano: shortly before, in the hamlet of San Tomaso, stands the
Hospitale of Saint Giovanni - a complex founded towards the end of the 12th century AD.
This was a coveted stop for numerous pilgrims and nowadays the Hospitale site still offers hospitality to those who need it, as in ancient times.
Continuing our tour, we arrive in the
Cornino Lake Nature Reserve: this area is characterized by notable environmental diversity, ranging from the emerald waters of the lake to the rocks that are home of
griffon vultures.
In this park you can take a break and you can enjoy a picnic in this fabulous nature.
In the afternoon we reach
Val d'Arzino, one of the wildest places in the region, characterized by spectacular nature. For the more daring, we recommend getting to
Pozzis, a place inhabited by "Coco", well known among bikers for having reached Sammarcanda aboard his Harley-Davidson, dated 1939.
For sunset time, we return to
San Daniele del Friuli, one of the best-known villages in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Here it is a must to taste the well-known
raw ham with a good glass of wine!
Few people know, however, that this town is home to one of the most prestigious Italian libraries, as well as the oldest in Friuli Venezia Giulia: the
Guarneriana Library!
